Lawyers are obliged by the Federal Lawyer’s Ordinance to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum sum insured of € 250,000. The details are given in § 51 BRAO. As a lawyer, I am insured against financial loss at: VGH Insurance, Landschaftliche Brandkasse Hannover, Schiffgraben 4, 30159 Hannover.

The geographical scope of professional liability insurance extends to activities related to advice and employment within European law and the work of lawyers before European courts. Liability for content
